Formula Yacht Spars was incorporated in the late 1990’s to design, engineer and build quality yacht spars in both carbon fibre and aluminium.

In late 2004, Formula Yacht Spars acquired the Essex (UK) based Hood Yacht Spars Ltd of international renown to increase the product range.

In 2006 the high tech carbon mast manufacturer Blackflag Composites SARL in Montpellier (France) was incorporated into the group to provide a French base for carbon mast manufacturing and service.

In 2007 Formula acquired the large aluminium specialist Phoenix Marine Equipment BV in Blokzijl (Holland) to further expand the superyacht expertise and to allow Formula to setup a centre of excellence for custom alloy spars for yachts of 40m and above.

With increased production volume and with expanded specialist knowledge and skills available through the acquisitions, proven race success and satisfied clients cruising around the world, Formula Yacht Spars is a major player in the global market in the coming years.
